Early Morning Pick-Up and Transfer
Your unforgettable adventure begins before the sun rises, typically around 4:00 to 5:00 AM depending on season and weather. Our team will pick you up from your hotel or agreed meeting point. After boarding a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle, you’ll experience a scenic drive to the launch site. The early morning atmosphere, with its cool and calm vibe, enhances the sense of excitement for what’s to come. The journey takes approximately 30 minutes to 1 hour, depending on your location in Luxor.
Arrival at the Launch Site and Balloon Preparation
Upon arrival at the launch site, you’ll be greeted by our experienced ground crew. You’ll have the opportunity to watch the preparation process as the team carefully unrolls and inflates the balloon. The crew uses large fans to fill the envelope with cold air initially, and then the burners are ignited to gradually heat the air inside. As the balloon begins to rise, you’ll feel the first stirrings of excitement. During this time, you’ll be served a light refreshment, such as tea or coffee.
Before takeoff, your pilot will give a detailed safety briefing. This includes instructions on how to board the basket, what to expect during the flight, and how to position yourself during landing for safety.
Takeoff and Scenic Flight
Once the balloon is inflated and the burners are ignited, the ascent begins, usually just as the sun starts to rise. The gentle lift-off is surprisingly smooth, and you’ll soon be floating peacefully in the sky. The entire flight lasts between 45 minutes and an hour, depending on weather conditions.
During the flight, the pilot will control the altitude by adjusting the burners to either heat the air and rise or cool the air to descend. The balloon will drift with the wind, allowing you to experience the stunning and unique aerial views of Luxor’s historical sites. You’ll get to see:
The Valley of the Kings: The ancient burial site of Pharaohs, including the famous tombs of Tutankhamun and Ramses.
The Karnak Temple Complex: A massive, sacred temple dedicated to the Theban gods, offering incredible views from above.
The Nile River: Gliding over the river, you’ll see both the natural beauty and the agricultural lands along its banks, framed by the distant desert.
Luxor Temple: This ancient temple, illuminated by the early morning sun, stands majestically against the clear sky.
Descent and Landing
As the flight nears its end, the pilot will begin the descent by reducing the heat and opening the parachute valve at the top of the envelope to release hot air. The descent is gradual, allowing you to enjoy more views of the land below. The landing will be smooth, though you may feel a gentle bump depending on the wind conditions at the time.
Once the balloon has safely touched down, the ground crew will assist with disembarking. A traditional landing involves deflating the envelope, and you’ll be invited to watch the crew pack the balloon away. The moment is often filled with excitement and satisfaction, as you’ve just experienced a magical journey in the sky.
Post-Flight Celebration and Return
After landing, you will also receive a commemorative certificate to mark your achievement. Finally, the crew will assist in returning you to the vehicle, where you’ll be driven back to your hotel or the starting point. The entire trip usually concludes by around 8:00 AM.

- Clothing: We recommend wearing comfortable clothing, closed-toe shoes, and dressing in layers, as it can be cool in the early morning and warm during the flight.
